About the role
East West Fire Services is looking for a Fire Technician with Vehicle Fire Suppression experience to join our team. Some out of town work will be required but you will be based in Townsville . As a Fire Technician at East West Fire Services you will play a crucial role in maintaining and servicing fire safety equipment for our clients across Townsville, QLD. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, ensuring the safety and compliance of fire protection systems. Must hold a current QBCC License.
What you'll be doing
Inspecting, testing and maintaining a variety of fire protection equipment such as fire extinguishers, fire hose reels and fire alarms and Vehicle Fire Suppression systems.
Responding to call-outs and carrying out urgent repairs to restore fire safety systems
Providing technical advice and guidance to clients on the proper use and maintenance of fire safety equipment
Maintaining detailed records and documentation of all service and repair work
Ensuring compliance with relevant fire safety regulations and standards
Collaborating with the wider team to identify opportunities for process improvements
What we're looking for
Relevant qualifications in fire protection or a related technical field
Vehicle Fire Suppression experience
Minimum 3 years' experience as a fire technician or in a similar role
Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and rectify issues with fire safety equipment
Knowledge of fire safety regulations, standards and best practices
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical information effectively
A current driver's licence and the ability to travel to client sites as required
