Position
Due to business growth, a Fire Portable Technician role is available at their Wynnum site. This is a hands-on, site-based role servicing and maintaining portable fire protection equipment in accordance with Australian Standards. Entry-level applicants with a mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, service, and maintain portable fire extinguishers, hose reels, hydrants, monitors, foam systems
- Assist with monthly, six-monthly, and annual inspections
- Complete accurate service reports and maintain documentation
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and according to site procedures
- Support the site team with installation and minor repairs of fire protection equipment
Candidate
The ideal candidate will be mechanically minded, reliable, and motivated to work in a hands-on role. Entry-level applicants with a willingness to learn are welcome, though experience in fire equipment servicing is an advantage.
Key Attributes
- Mechanically minded with strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
- Driver's Licence and Construction White Card
- Certificate II in Asset Maintenance (Fire Protection - Portable Equipment) and QBCC Portable Fire Equipment Licence (preferred)
- Forklift, EWP, Working at Heights, or Confined Space tickets (desirable)
- Strong work ethic, good communication, and team-oriented attitude
